The Purposes and Responsibilities of the Court

To define the essential core competencies for Canadian court administrators, ACCA looked at a number of approaches. In the end, it endorsed competencies defined by the National Association for Court Management (NACM) in the United States, due to the similarity of issues in both nations. In addition, the NACM has produced high quality information and resources. ACCA reviewed those resources and developed documents outlining how core competencies differ in the Canadian context, starting with comments on the purposes and responsibilities of the courts in Canada.
