Today more than ever we are challenged as court administrators to provide the best court service to Canadians. Access to justice and the court system continues to be the focal point of many court projects and initiatives. While we are very fortunate to live in a diverse society where respect and adherence to the Rule of Law and the principle of judicial independence are the cornerstones of our democratic foundation, which many emerging democracies seek to emulate, we must nonetheless continue to work hard in the furtherance of these critical tenets of Canadian democracy. Canada’s court administrators continue to take a leadership role in efforts to make the court system in Canada accessible and relevant to Canadians. We want to ensure that any legal dispute that requires determination by the court is done so through a process that is accessible, understandable, expeditious and effective.
For over 30 years, the Association of Canadian Court Administrators has provided court administrators from across our great country with the opportunity to share best practices and to work together on our mission of enhancing the administration of justice in Canada through innovation and improvements to Canada’s court system.
The ACCA membership is comprised of highly dedicated individuals representative of the diversity that has made Canada such a great place to live and prosper. I am certain that you will find many opportunities to share your expertise and unique skills within such a positive and dynamic organization! Please consider becoming a leader in Canadian courts administration and collaborating with your fellow court administrators and other partners in the justice system for the betterment of the administration of justice in Canada.
